Pete's Personal Photos Published As Banner On This Site
I'm not a real photographer, have no plans to ever be one, and don't own the right equipment. There. I've said it. I can't be held accountable for something I didn't try to do.
....
Having said all that, it is a point of great personal pride that I am able to release, today, 35 of my own photos on this site for use of the banners which appear as a header. Hit 'F5' a few times and you can see it cycle through more, on this or any page on the site.
These photos were not taken for the sake of photography, most are an act of love. Love for a lake that I have spent 25 years riding clockwise around, on my bicycle. Love for the birds and plants and thousands of anonymous people that have kept me company for those same 25 years. And love for the cycling road trips I have taken with my son Jeff, which also appear on these banner photos.
When I went through my photos to see if any were usable as a banner for this new graphics theme, I was delighted to discover how many of them were usable with nothing more than a crop.
Technology Used:
- Camera: A very old and beat up Nikon Coolpix of questionable pixel resolution and often dirty lens.
- Photos straightened out and some corrections done with Picassa
- GIMP was used to crop and scale everything to the required 940 X 118 format.
More:
Again, they aren't intended as professional, but many of my photos are also viewable at my personal Picassa site.
